Speakeasy, the Secret
Pada 1920 – 1933, bar-bar dan restoran-restoran di Amerika Serikat tidak diperbolehkan untuk menjual alkohol. Masa yang disebut dengan masa “prohibition” ini memberikan kesempatan lahirnya bar-bar rahasia yang menjual alkohol. Diatur dan dimiliki oleh para gangster waktu itu, ada anggapan bahwa mereka yang bisa masuk ke bar-bar tersebut bisa berbicara dengan nyaman, tanpa harus khawatir pembicaraannya akan didengar oleh polisi yang sedang menyamar. Anggapan ini disebut ‘speakeasy’.
Speakeasy Cocktails and Tapas dibuat dengan konsep ini. Desainnya banyak didominasi oleh pernah-pernik dari era tersebut, sehingga cenderung terlihat seperti sebuah jazz club. Untuk ke depannya, akan ada password khusus yang harus disebutkan di depan pintu. Ini agar semua yang datang tetap bisa ‘speakeasy’ sambil menikmati cocktail dan tapas mereka.
